Carrie Underwood....

Loren bought 2 tickets to see Carrie Underwood, and she invited me to go. I picked her up in the minivan (nothing like going to a concert in a minivan), and we went to eat at Chili's. She bought the tickets, so I treated us to dinner. Little Big Town opened up for Carrie. Both Carrie and Little Big Town were awesome!
Thanks Loren for a great night!

Tina Turner...

Papa bought tickets to Tina Turner for Elsa and her mom. Elsa's mom was not able to go, so I got to go!!! I kept sitting there watching this bundle of energy perform. I can't believe she is in her late 60's. She put on an AWESOME concert! Thanks Elsa for inviting me!

Playing the Djembi drum....

Papa brought a Djembi drum back from Africa his last trip. This was the first time Owen has played it. He loved it!

Brothers Snuggling...

There is nothing sweeter that seeing your children snuggle in bed. Aidan is such a snuggle bug, and I think Owen is learning. They love eachother so much, boy do I hope it will last. =)

Aidan in Mommy's shoes....

I don't know why this is so funny, but I found myself laughing so hard when he put my shoes on. Go figure!

Chimenea Fun....

A few years ago, Papa bought Shane and I a chimenea. We occasionally use it to burn all the pecan limbs that fall. This night we invited the Hogans over to roast marshmallows. The boys loved it!

Aidan and Noah Reading...

One minute Aidan and Noah were running around the house going wild, and the next this is what we found.....Mommy is so proud! =)

It might sounds as if they are reading to each other, but they are in fact reading to themselves at the same time.

Little Brave Owen....

Aidan got to choose where we had dinner tonight. He got a flu shot and did not even cry. The nurse said, "Are you ready, Aidan?" He said yes and hopped in the chair. Definitely not my child, I am still afraid of needles. So where does every 4 1/2 year old want to eat...McDonald's! After the boys ate we decided to let Owen out of the highchair. He went straight to the play land and quickly climbed all the way to the top. He has no fear at all! He would climb all the way up, slide down the slide, and then go again. Aidan was probably 3 before he did that, and Owen is doing it with no help at 18 months....We are in trouble!

Special Thanks to Katie for the new blog look....

I have had tons of comments to me about my new blog look. If you like it please go to
katie@rememberwhencustomscrapbooksbykatie.com and tell her I sent you. She does great work, and is VERY quick and helpful. =) I searched a ton of sights that will do an overhaul on my blog, but they were all very expensive and booked until March. I had previously bought some digital kits from her, so I decided to see if she would be interested. I told her I wanted blues and browns and Queen of My Castle..and this is what she came up with. I LOVE IT! She is still making me a blog header with no pictures, and I will add that soon. I think I like the updated pictures on the side rather than on the blog header, but I told her that after she did all the other work. Email her at the address above and tell her what you would like, and she will email you a price. =)

She also sells digital kits for $1.50, and they are some of the best ones I have seen. The kits are awesome! I have not used any yet because I purchased some Halloween and Fall ones, but I will put them up soon. Check out her blog..

Each kit comes with so much you could make an entire book out of them.

Tell her I sent you because I want to get her some business! She is a stay at home mom who just decided to start her own business.

Owen and Grandpa Steve Reading....

Owen and Grandpa Steve were sitting on the couch reading, and all of the sudden Owen started laughing out loud. It was so cute! Grandpa Steve would read and then point quickly to the pictures. Owen would just bellow out a laugh. Watch the video to see him laughing.

Hulk Smash Hands....

Grandpa Steve bought Aidan and Owen some Hulk Smash Hands. Owen was not too sure about them at first. One makes noise and the other does not, so Owen would end up throwing the one that makes noises, while running away. Aidan did not mind at all because it meant he got both hands that made noises. Believe it or not.....we have not had any time outs related to the hulk hands....yet!

Marshmallow Baseball....

Shane bought the boys some marshmallow shooters at the Mansfield Pecan Festival. I am not sure who has enjoyed it more, the boys, Shane or Papa. Papa would shoot them and Shane would try to hit it with an empty paper towel holder. Then Papa and Elsa decided to put a do-rag on Owen, after trying to convince him it would not hurt him by modeling it.

Playroom Visitor....

Dini, Callie, Aidan and Owen were all playing one Friday night. The girls like to come and entertain the boys, Shane and I sure don't mind. =) The kids were getting too loud, so I told them to go to the playroom. When Dini opened the door a little "something" ran across the floor. Dini screamed, and then the fun began. I am terrified of rats, big, little, it does not matter. I was standing on a chair giving orders to the kids. Dini and Callie grabbed swords. Aidan went and put on his Rex Halloween costume. He was right in the middle of the action. Owen was just jumping around and following Aidan like he knew what he was doing. Shane was at a softball game, so I told Dini to call her dad. She called and he said, "No Way!" He is also afraid of rats, so Donna came to the rescue. At first she said, just open the doors, and the rat will eventually go out. At that point I said, "No Way! I have to see the it leave." Donna knew I was being silly, but serious. She stayed until she finally got the rat out. We, Donna chasing it and me on the chair, scared that rat to death. It was terrified. It was running all over the place while still staying hidden behind the toys. Finally, Donna trapped it in the jog stroller. The girls picked it up and put it in the back yard. When the rat finally got away, it was scared to death. The playroom was clean, but not after this fiasco.
